King Estate Winery Is Pleased To Annouce
Key Promotions And Appointments Within
It's Production Team
John Albin is promoted
to the position of Director of Viticulture
and Winemaking. John, a UC Davis
graduate in Fermentation Science, joined
the King Estate production team in February,
2005 as Associate Winemaker, Grower Relations.
John has been associated with King Estate
since its inception, first as a grower,
and then as crush supervisor before joining
the production team full time.
Bill Kremer assumes a position
of Winemaker. Bill holds
a Masters degree from UC Davis in Food Science
- Enology, and a Masters degree in Microbiology
from the University of Washington. Bill
has held a number of positions at King Estate
since his arrival in 1995, most recently,
Director of Winemaking. In his new role,
Bill will manage King Estate's white wine
program, focusing his attention on furthering
King Estate's position as the leading ultra-premium
Pinot Gris producer in America.
Lindsay Kampff assumes
a position of Winemaker.
Lindsay will manage King Estate's red wine
program. Lindsay joined the King Estate
staff in 2004 after tenures at J and Jordan
Wineries in Sonoma County. Lindsay has a
Chemistry Degree from UC Santa Barbara,
and a Certificate in Winemaking from UC
Davis. In addition to overseeing King Estate's
Pinot Noir program, Lindsay leads the production
of King Estate's new Walla Walla Cabernet
Sauvignon and Syrah program: NxNW.
Al Ehlow joins King Estate
as Assistant Winemaker.
Al holds a degree in Viticulture and Enology
from UC Davis, and brings eight years of
experience in the Sonoma and Napa Valleys
with Whitehall Lane, Alderbrook, and Merryvale
wineries.
Meliton Martinez continues
in his role as Vineyard Manager.
Meliton has been with King Estate since
1993 serving as Vineyard Manager since 1999.
In this role Meliton oversees the detailed
and time consuming practices that have made
King Estate one of the world's largest certified
organic estate vineyard-holders.
